Can from Vinyl Beer on the UES NYC. Pours a dark brown/molasses with a finger of foamy light tan head, nice lacing, smell is chocolatey toasty malts, hints of sweet creamy coffee, taste follows the nose with nice roasted malt character, hints of chocolate and coffee and a dalliance of licorice, feel is light and silky. A sweet and toasty treat.

A: The beer is very dark brown (black when viewed from afar) in color. It poured with a short beige head that left wisps of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of licorice and dark malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has a lot of flavors of dark malts and is rather roasty and a bit nutty; the roasted flavors linger into the finish. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer seems to be like a hybrid between a Schwarzbier and a Doppelbock as it has all of the malty flavors and drinkability you would expect from a Schwarzbier and some of the additional maltiness and body from a Doppelbock..

Look: Very dark brown. Two fingers of foamy tan head with seemingly endless retention.
Smell: Citrusy hops, white pepper, lemon peel, lavender.
Taste: Sweet, toasted malt balanced almost 50:50 with hop bitterness. Mild citrus hop flavor. Lingering roast finish.
Mouthfeel: Full and smooth with high carbonation.
Overall: An excellent winter ale, perfect for settling down with by the fire.
