The idea behind Social Conditioning NEIPA was to brew a beer that can be enjoyed at home with all the characteristics of a house bomb beer; creamy, smooth and juicy. At 8% ABV, this beer is potentially a deep conversation starter. We used copious amounts of Azacca, El Dorado & Simcoe hops in the whirlpool and then again when dry-hopping. The essences come together & balance so beautifully with our malt bill. The result is a hazy, creamy & juicy hop bomb with a fruity nose of mango & pineapple that follows with a blast of tropical stone fruits. Mango, papaya, orange & grapefruit spring to mind The finish lingers, and the remnants of creamy fresh fruit lead to a thirst for more. Listen to yourself!

Gotta love the name of this beer given everything that's been going on lately but I also loved it because of how smooth it was. No, I'm not that familiar with Alewife but this was the third offering from them that I've had and it was incredibly smooth and easy to quaff. While not particularly bold or bright, there was enough here to savor as the alcohol and heft were well-hidden.
Cloudy, murky, and off-gold, this looked every bit the part of a New England IPA. A good amount of foamy bubbles topped this off as they slowly settled as the lacing left behind was quite sparse in comparison. Just a few scattered sections of it near the top of my pint glass as the head did last for nearly the whole duration of my time with this beer. Exotic fruit, peach skin, and stone fruit filled the nose as the taste was just as overripe, heavy, and intriguing. The mango really stood out here but in the sense that it had been around the block a few times. If you like your beers to be smooth with Azacca and El Dorado leading the way with an earthy, deep presence, then you've found your match with this one!
The carbonation was nearly nonexistent and you'd be hard-pressed to taste the alcohol although I felt the warming take hold around the time I was finishing this off. No date on the bottom of the can although there was some dark and clumped sediment at the bottom of the liquid that I had to swirl out. The description of the mouthfeel was correct as this was hazy, creamy, and juicy as somehow, I wanted another one of these when I finished this off. Not the best take on the style but I enjoyed this, as well as the psychedelic label. Subtle in it's slickness and hold on me, I'm glad that Alewife has contributed to the booming beer scene in Long Island City as this offering was a hint of what's yet to come.

Pours a cloudy peach with a substantial white foamy head. There is not much nose to this beer but there is still a lot of flavor in this one. Flavors include musk melon, peach, orange and a little malt on the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is very good.
I usually am drawn toward very hop forward beers but this is still good. Not a very bitter ale but the floral hop make it very interesting. Try this one!
