Another Pelican brew from Buckeyeboy... Thanks Jeremy.. A witbier seems like a great choice for an oppressively hot Friday evening.

Pours pale golden... pretty clear for a wit.. but oh well.. nice white head and descent lacing.

Nose seems about right... pale malts... sorta doughy... more spice than orange peel.

Flavor mirrors the nose with more coriander and only lite orange peel....

Body was light... effervescent.. Glad I am not picking up on the cardamom.... as I really don't like it in beer.

Refreshing and a nice change of pace... Brenda has been on a witbier kick lately and really liked this one... Thanks Jeremy.

22 oz bottle from the pub, "5" written on cap in marker indicates this was bottled in May. Poured into my large Gulden Draak tulip, the Heiferweizen is a cloudy pale gold with a large white head, tight and fairly well lasting, leaving moderate lace.

Smell is classic wit, nice esters, a touch of spices, some sour wheat, nice dry minerals, very nice.

Taste is also great, very true to style. The name is a bit of a misnomer, as it implies Barvarian hefeweizen, but the label clarifies this as a "Traditionally Spiced Belgian-Style Wit Beer. Beer brewed with orange peel, coriander and cardamom." Semisweet, prefect balance of esters and spices with the malt and wheat. A killer Belgian Wit, the only thing I'd like is a bit of lactic sourness to complement the wheat, but that is not a requirement for the style, so I won't hold it against it.

Mouthfeel is crisply carbonated, with a medium light body and sharp finish.

Drinkability is super high, this is damn tasty, but very clean and balanced, really perfect execution of their recipe. I've had this on draught and from the bottle before and have always been impressed, but I'm surprised how highly I'm scoring this...but it's just too good to slight.

This brew is a clear yellow-gold color with a thick and foamy white head that lasts awhile. Patchy lacing. Wheaty aroma with touches of spice. Light-bodied and rather carbonated with flavors of wheat, citrus and lightly peppery hops. The finish is wheaty with a bit of citrus aftertaste. Decent overall

A real fine banana nose and a fine white head start things off nicely. This is a refined hefe with just the right amount of cloves on the finish. Like most Pelican beers this has the solid midbody thats creates a full complex brew. I would love this on their patio on the beach on a hot day.

With a name that references the famous Tillamook cows, just 25 miles north, this wheat beer (which I thought was filtered but the brewery says otherwise) is a very pale yellow with a spicy aroma coming from the coriander and orange peel used while brewing.

It has a very spicy taste thanks to the coriander. A smooth mouthfeel and a good aftertaste round out this good ale.
