Originating in the homebrew kitchen of Head Brewer Jason Schlebach, Bronze God was born. From the first batch made for his wedding–held in the Pelican Barrel Room like the authentic brewer he is–it has been refined over the years since. Ideally suited for your next festivity, this deliciously malty lager features rich, toasty, rounded malt flavors in abundance. With a vibrant copper-bronze color, this beer lures you in, while the clean finish, floral aroma, and moderate strength keep you coming back for another taste. Bronze God is the perfect guest of honor at your next celebration.

Quite dark coppery amber with plenty of foam in the chalice. While it doesn't taste like much, it does have a wonderful nose of roasted malt. Some slight grainy taste with a hint of caramel. Plain and fizzy, and quite quaffable. Still it's more on the dishwatery side than the crisp. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at the supermarket.

maybe a little early in the year for this style, still feel like its peak summer, but seasonal creep is real, they drink these year round overseas, and who cares, its delicious. pelican again showing their versatility. this is pretty straight up and true to style, classic. copper colored, nice and clear, middle of the road in terms of color in this style, nice frothy white head from the tap, some shine, looks polished and bubbly. the nose is slightly sweet up front, earthy too like fallen leaves and dry roasted nuts, some subtly floral hops in the mix, lots of minerals, and familiar bready german lager yeast, a bit rich but also still with an obvious crispness. the flavor is just like the nose, well grounded and nutty, less sweet than many which i love, and the lager yeast has plenty of flavor to add to the mix. i get raisin, almond, toffee, pretzel, and a lot of minerals from the water that give this some old world authenticity, nice attention to detail for sure. its got some light hop bitterness at the end which helps it drink balanced, and i feel like the hops add a certain freshness that isnt always part of the experience with a marzen, mellow but a nice touch. this is real well done overall, classically styled, but ill hold off on more until we get into actual fall. this is slightly heavier than some, so it feels like a lot un the summer. perfect beer for the autumn season, better than many other regional examples!

12oz bottle from HomeBrewStuff. Dark golden pour, patchy fine head. Sweet malty aroma. Taste stays with the sweet malts, toffee, gingery notes, finishing with a light bitterness. Nice!

12 oz bottle from a six pack from Freddies.
$8.99 a six
Pours a nice bronze coloured body with a nice frothy eggshell white head.
Very creamy/bready malty aromas..very nice.
Taste the same as the aroma..very deeply malty even for a Marzen..with slight grassy hop in the end. But somehow it all comes together very well.
Nice mouth feel very drinkable. Has good carbonation and a slick body.
This is a weird one but very tasty. Not a classic marzen , but i think a great one.

12oz bottle

A pretty moderate pour gives off a huge three fingers of white head into my Boston Lager glass. Pillowy and creamy with stellar retention after a few minutes. Initial lacing looks thick as all hell. Body is a dark amber, nearly brown, with hues of orange. Very clear with a huge amount of bubbles coming up. Looks fantastic so far.

Rich malt, bread, toffee and caramel quickly lead to a well attenuated mineral aroma. These two main characteristics of sweet and dry come and go and play well with each other, balancing the nose well.
While BJCP considers caramel inappropriate, I get it in every Oktoberfest I have, and many great breweries advertise it. This is a classic nose that cleans up the second you think it’s getting a little sweet, and I can even pick up a little bit of hops. Very nice.

Flavor is rich malt, bread, toffee, caramel, with the smallest dose of hops at the end. Everything comes through wonderfully. Lovely.

This is definitely a sweeter Oktoberfest, not all that dry or attenuated. This affects the flavor, but certainly lands more in the mouthfeel. While I like the big feel it adds, it is a little much – a little cloying, I would prefer something a little more balanced. As for the rest of the mouthfeel, the overall body is medium, largely due to some of those sugars. Carbonation is a little under medium. Bitterness is just barely there but makes an appearance in the finish. Not bad, but at times it’s hard to get away from those sugars, and while not unheard of, I don’t think this is very well to style.

Drinkability is hard to settle on because it is tasty, but too sweet. I’d say it drinks ok all things considered.

Appearance turned out amazing. The retention was gritty with a small layer of head lasting till the end, and the lacing very thick.

Overall this is a nearly perfect beer, but certainly too sweet, regardless of style guidelines, which I don’t think it would be akin to either.

Look: Copper/deep red, clear, and with a huge off-white head that is leaving visible lacing as it recedes
Aroma: Warm brown bread, a little melanoidin, toffee, and some earthy and floral hops in the mix as well but in the background
Taste: Bready malt notes and melanoidin up front with toffee and hops in tow for the ride. More maltiness in the middle before the earthy and floral hop notes close things out. Very clean and crisp on the finish with a light sweetness present too
Mouthfeel: Smooth and full but light overall and clean throughout. Medium-high carbonation with a crisp finish
Overall: I’m down with this one. I never saw it in my neck of the woods last year so excited to see it this time around. The look of this says amber Marzen but to me, the taste leans ever so slightly Festbier as it isn’t too heavy on malt sweetness and I think the hops are more present in both the nose and taste. A tasty beer either way and I plan to buy plenty in the coming weeks/months

Clear rose gold with two fingers of off white head. Splotches of lace appear as the liquid level drops.
Smell is floral hops and bready malt.
Taste is mildly bitter floral hops with a lightly sweet bready malt.
Mouthfeel is light medium with proper carbonation. Finish is slightly dry and balanced.
Overall a tasty and easy drinking lager.

1 month old bottle into a mug. Really awesome clear dark bronze color, great lacing and retention, nice sustained white soapy crown, and active bubbles. The nose is reminiscent of soda bread, cracked nuts, and some bready wheatness and subtle pumpkin. The taste follows a mildly sour bread style, with nice twang and some developed malt, and a tinge of hop to round it out, alongside that sneaky pumpkin note. The finish is particularly pleasant in the bready goodness department. The mouthfeel is surprisingly full, and the beer finishes nice and dry for me.

This is a awesome Oktoberfest style, which is pretty new too me. Incredibly drinkable and delicious to boot.
