On tap at brewpub:
A dark brown, obvious at the edges of not from the main body. A very light beige head starts as a cap and draws to the sides to form a medium thick collar. Very spotty lacing.
Nose is of light roasted malt with a hint of earthiness. Not really getting much brine at all. Maybe a very light indication of fruitiness.
A nice dry roasted opening, like a medium leaning dark roast, berry-tasting coffee. Pretty straightforward flavors, but they are on point. As it warms, the roast and dryness fade a little, and there’s a little more of an export stout impression to me. There’s very little oyster influence, though a little meaty to mineraly oyster note can be detected in the end, maybe (and mainly?) because I’m looking for it. Medium light with a fair level of carbonation.
I could use a little softer feel and a little more obvious brine.
