Like the force of nature it is named for, Tsunami Stout will bowl you over with its jet black color and dark seductive aroma. Roasted malts and unmalted barley give this full-bodied brew its dense creamy head and distinct dark chocolate and cappuccino flavors that swell to a clean, rounded malty finish. Grab a Tsunami and head for high ground.

A very good export stout, although compared to the ‘other’ Oregon brewed export stout it comes in second. A bit too astringent for my personal taste. If you like a sharper edge to your export stout, you’ll love this.

Rated 12-26-2019. Don't remember too much about this beer except the taste which I thought was quite smooth. I believe I had this at the Cannon Beach brewery. I'll have to give it another try and report back.
Had this beer again last night. Pours a dark brown with a tan head and a lot of air bubbles in the head. It has a nice chocolate malt and sweetness to the aroma. The taste is the same with a bitterness all through the drink. It tastes light for a 7% stout. From a bottle. Had again 2023

Quite ample amount of tan head.Really dark brown, which is opaque in the glass, for the appearance. Slightly restrained, sweet caramelized, dark roasted grain aroma. Very roasty, dark roasted grain flavor, which lends to an edge to the flavor. The edge subsides fairly quickly to allow the deeply roasted malt/grain flavor to preside into the finish. Solid body.

Poured from a 12 ounce undated bottle into a tulip glass at 49 degrees.

Look- Black, medium brown creamy head, opaque, above average head retention, average lacing.

Smell- Dark chocolate, roasted malt, slight coffee, between weak and medium strength of scent.

Taste- Coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, medium strength of flavor.

Feel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, silky, moderately bitter, moderately creamy, mildly mouth coating, mildly mouth warming.

Overall- Great appearance with a slightly underpowered nose. The flavor was a nice mix of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. The feel was toward the fuller end of the spectrum with a silkiness and moderate level of bitterness. Overall this beer provided a good drinking experience with a straight forward aromatic and flavor profile.

Appearance: Well we have here is a dark abyss of glorious nectar. With a head that is dark beige in color and very frothy and is a solid two fingers thick.

Aroma: Heavy chocolate dark that is. Roasted malt all over. Burnt hops, with espresso notes.

Taste: Incredibly smooth as melted dark chocolate. Espresso, dark roasted malt everywhere. Roasted hops round it out.

Overall: This is an amazing treat. Perfect for the coolest or coldest of nights. Prost.

On tap at Bathtub Gin & Co. Speakeasy. Straight from the bottle. Fairly strong but pretty good.

Had on tap. Brownish black pour with a light brown head. Aromas of chocolate, black strap molasses, light roast coffee and earth. Taste hits the chocolate hard, with the earth, molasses and coffee falling to the background while licorice, light char, and roasted malt step up to the plate. Feel is thin for an export, but appropriately dry, roasted and malty.

12oz bottle
no apparent freshness date, but I didn’t look that hard
L: pitch black body; tall & frothy tan head leaves tons of lacing on the glass
S: roasted barley, dark cocoa, char, earthy hops
T: robust roasted barley, dark cocoa, French roast coffee, char, earthy bitter hops
F: full body, ample carbonation, dry finish with roasted grain lingering
O: really good!

Poured from a chilled pint can. The nose jumps out of the glass. It is almost black in color, a super deep brown. The peanut-tan head did not perform well here, perhaps a glass error. Chocolate and roasted coffee nose. Bold but not incredibly complex. Paler malts detected despite how dark. On the palate there is graham cracker with melted chocolate, semisweet-semibitter. Moderate hops are balanced by the malt. It does have a milky texture, reminding me of hot chocolate combined with the flavor. Again, not super complex. It is a clean dark beer, surprisingly so for 7abv.
I am not enthralled by this export stout, but there are no problems with it. Middle of the road, it fits the style, but doesn't offer anything unique to bring me back.

Dark black , thick brown head with nice lacing. Smells of coffee, liquorice nice roasted malts. Medium bodied for a dark stout, but very drinkable. Taste good up front, coffee, chocolate. For the price this is the stout to my neighborhood.

12 oz bottle dated 10/1/20 poured into a pint glass on 12/19/20.

Pours a 3" light tan head. Opaque black color.

Scents of dark chocolate, coffee, dried cherries, and caramelized sugar.

Tastes like cocoa, espresso, dried cherries and caramel. A little lingering bitterness in the finish.

Smooth, but not velvety or creamy mouthfeel. More effervescent than other stouts. Medium-bodied.

An easy-drinking stout that hides its ABV. Smooth but not creamy. Standard stout flavor and aroma profile with an unexpectedly effervescent mouthfeel.
