Draft at brewpub. Pale golden, small fizzy head. Aroma is big cereal malts, crackers. Taste continues with the malts, and the right amount of hops at the finish. Pretty true to style.

12oz can poured into knock-off "perfect pint" glass. Poured a lightly hazy pale yellow color with just a thin cap of white head that low retention and lacing.

The aroma was fairly typical, maybe just the slightest hint of the lemon the label promotes, grain forward, with soft hops.

Pretty similar on the tongue, with the lemon having a slight bit more presence.

The body may have a touch thicker than I prefer in the style, but was smooth and even, with a semi-dry finish.

Drinkability was fine, I might grab a sixer to take to a cookout. Overall, a pleasant enough brew, not among the best of the style, but certainly not among the worst.

Clear yellow gold in color with handsome head of white in the Stella Artois goblet. Hints of resin in the nose. Simple corn aroma with hints of lemon. This is not the perfumey style of Kölsch, and less hoppy than the German style. But there is a warm and pleasing cereal taste with a cucumber finish.

Taking a gulp, it starts out mellow and malty like a Blonde Ale, and the gradually changes to something like a faint lager. Still, it's not exactly crisp, but a totally drinkable brew and a nice addition to the world of light summery beers. From the 12 oz can purchased in northwest Washington.

it continues to be true that i like everything pelican makes, so much so that i have been jumping on them wherever i see them, not a bad one in the lot so far! this is a simple and clean kolsch, maybe a little mild on the german essence, but its done with lemon, which gives it a natural little tang and a real wonderful summery seasonal freshness, nicely done with that aspect. its clear and light golden beer with several inches of airy white head from the tap that only slowly settles back. the aroma is a little of that fresh citrus hit and a simple earthy crackery malt thing, not much from the yeast at this stage. the flavor has some minerals and european pils type malt to it, while the lemon stays back as only an accent, tricky in such a mild beer but nicely pulled off. i finally get the yeast at the end, crisping and pretty classically german, right for the style but maybe a little more restrained here than in some of them, but it keeps the whole thing dry and light and easy. it warms up well, but i hardly let it, i find myself drinking this inappropriately fast as its so good and clean and refreshing. some decent texture as well, not watered down or too light, and with just a pop of hop bitterness to close, which i think accentuates the lemon to just the right degree. tasty and clean, very likeable, super drinkable.

Pale amber, not much head. You get a bit of bread yeast and citrus - no doubt from the lemon peel addition. Definite citrus taste, refreshing in its own way. Moderate body, steady stream of light bubbles come up the glass. It's not a great beer, but it would do after mowing the grass or sitting on a deck overlooking a Pacific Ocean sunset.

12 oz. can, part of a six pack from Safeway in West Salem OR.
$7.99
Pours a extreme light yellow..clear as day, small ring of a head..dirty white in colour.
Aroma consists of paper, honey and bisuits( American).
Taste is reasonably clean..its honeyish with a bit of spicieness at the end.
Mouth feel is fine and well carbonated..easy to pound.
Overall average..even for this style. But an OK beer for the Oregon camping season.
