We give a lot of love to the sunsets out here on the coast, but a good coastal sunrise is really something special. It takes dedication to witness one, and it’s something you won't soon forget. Skyryze pale ale is similar in its bold malt character coming from Oregon-malted rye and its earthy and floral hop aroma. The experience continues with notes of pumpernickel and a slight rustic spice, as well as a moderate hoppy bitterness. Finishing clean and crisp on the palate, this beer is delightfully drinkable. Be bold. Watch a sunrise. Drink a Skyryze.

12 oz can from Brewers Haven. Deep golden pour, one finger foamy head. Dry malty aroma. Taste brings more malts with a touch of citrus. Simple, clean, tasty.

Clear pale gold with three fingers of cream color head. Rings of lace appear as the head slowly drops.
Smell is barley grain malts with a floral hop aroma.
Taste is mildly dank green light pine and good malt support.
The mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. The finish is medium dry and bitter.
Overall a tasty Pale Ale from Pelican. Canned on 10-09-19.

a rye pale and a darn good one, pelican is so good, everything, and this is just the latest (at least for me) in a long line of beers i like. on tap its lightly orange in color, fizzy white headed, and fresh as can be. very much a pale and not an ipa, not too bitter but well hoppy, northwestern sure, and malty but not sweet or heavy, its the rye in the engine room, real cool balance of flavors here, very drinkable. a bit more expressive in the taste than the smell, in the nose its more bitter and green and a little piney and with the rye spice, but in the taste i get some orange peel out of the hops, some white and black pepper both, some honey, and a good outdoor weedy vibe, but clean on the fermentation and not a lot left after the swallow. the proportions are excellent, the carbonation makes it lighter to drink than it should be for all this flavor, and the rye is present the whole way. a great session beer for those who like them flavorful and hoppy. good name for this too, good use of the rye, and good on pelican for always making solid beers. this is a four season drinker for beer drinkers.

12oz can poured into 14oz teku. Poured a mostly clear (a very slight chill haze)Dark gold color with about an inch of white head that had moderate retention and very light lacing.

The aroma was grain forward, with just enough Rye to add a nice tickle, without being overpowering. In the back were some gentle hops, and just a hint of citrus brightness to round it off.

Pretty similar on the tongue, with the citrus hops being a bit brighter counterpoint to the barley and rye.

The body was medium-full, smooth, crisp, and had a semi-dry finish.

Drinkability was very nice, I could see knocking off a few more of these.

Overall, a solid and enjoyable brew. certainly worth a shot if you see it.

6 pack of 12 oz. cans purchases from Roth's in West Salem OR
$7.99
Slightly hazed orange /gold colored body. With a nice thick and frothy off white head. Great lace to the bottom.
Aroma citrus and floral, pretty old school.
Again the taste resembles the aroma but with a tougher bitterness from the hops in the end.
Mouth feel is fine , well balanced and not cloying. Dryish finish.
Nice enough APA
