22oz bottle at BiB share. Pours thick and black, small tight beige head. Aroma is chocolate, then coffee, then roast malts. Taste addds some campfire notes to the rich stout flavors, with well balanced chocolate and coffee.

I loved this beer! I am a fan of dark beers. This was just right. Goldilocks would approve.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a one finger dark khaki head that was somewhat fizzy, but had great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, molasses, cocoa and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, chocolate, coffee and vanilla; finishes with lightly charry malt and a mildly estery fruit note. Medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Pelican knows how to make a great stout and the base here is excellent. The taste was affected a little by overcarbonation which came as a surprise. Flavor is solid dark stout and well integrated like most in this series have been; excellent recipe. The 10% ABV is remarkably well covered.
