Bomber from Brewers Haven. Bright golden pour, soft white head. Malty aroma, grainy, sweet. Taste starts sweet, malty, then some warmth creeps in. Smooth at the start, warms up with a nice bite at the finish.

Hoppy American barleywine? Strong Ale is fine as a catch-all style I guess.

Pelican calls this third Anniversary beer a "Hopwine Style Ale." It's hoppy but too sweet for a DIPA. Hops are listed as Tango, Nelson Sauvin, and Bru-1, which is supposed to deliver the distinct pineapply taste.
Very sweet and sugary which seems to mask the serious amount of alcohol. But super-strong, regardless. Flavors are clean and fruity, like melon liqueur.
This is really quite interesting and worth trying at the quite modest price, just for the hopwine experience. It's like malt liquor cranked up to 11, but hoppier. The sugar is on the lips with every sip, but the right dose of acidity makes the medicine go down. From the 500 ml bottle.
