I am not sure this is an IPA vs a fruit beer but there really isn’t any rules regarding styles anymore, is there? Had this on tap in Kuna, served in a shaker. Thicker orange hazy body, bright with minimal head. Definitely leads with some stone fruit on the nose, possibly some wheat or malt base underneath that; fruity tartness abounds on the nose and palate; minor impressions of citrus and floral hops; moderate bitterness with that present apricot-y tartness; not sour, but fruity. A decent fruit-forward IPA.

clever new one here from pelican, a hazy ipa with a ton of apricot in it, cool back and forth between the fruit and the hops, this is a hard style to do well, but i think they nailed it, the hops are in front of the apricot, this is ipa first, but both are major contributors here. the beer is quite hazy from the tap, dense pale orange with over an inch of creamy thick white head almost nitro looking. it smells slightly tart, curiously so really, but its appealing, the apricot is real natural, the hops have some fruitiness of their own thats real complimentary, pineapple and green apple and melon, not sure which varietals they employ here but they definitely flatter the apricot. the same is true in the flavor, the apricot is juicy but so are the hops, lots of both from start to finish, no bitterness, very little fruit sweetness too, and a sturdy yet simple and quite clean malt base. its balanced and bright, full bodied for sure but not heavy to drink really, and the fruit is so real and ripe, its wonderful. definitely a little tang here, intentional or not, it works, not quite lactic but it serves to make the fruit pop. lots of carbonation too. this is something quite difficult to execute, and i think they did a great job. the apricot and the hops really work well together.
