Look: Light golden yellow with a nice-looking white head that quickly forms a pillow, holds, and slowly settles, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Lemons, limes, light herbal tea notes, floral hops, and some bready malt
Taste: Starts out with a light herbaceous, almost spice note, before a humongous wave of citrus zest, flesh, and rind rushes in and is lemon-lime dominant. Floral hops follow and appear from time to time while malt provides the tapestry for it all to come together
Mouthfeel: Light but full, clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and a crisp and clean finish with some light dryness
Overall: I dig it. This is good, well-made, and unique in its profile, all of which help make this a winner in my book. I’ve never heard of Lorien hops but they are definitely lemon-lime/citrus/floral dominate in their use here and it’s always fun to try something new. This won’t be my last sixer this summer

love when a beer teaches me something new while also being delicious and drinkable, which is what this cool new lager does, a brand new (to me) hop here called lorien, seems well suited to this kind of beer, a simple, crisp, and hop forward lager that still has some bitterness to it despite being dry hopped, really nice. to me overall it could be just a touch lighter, like its not malty in flavor and its well dry, but it does have a little more body than it seems to want, so even when ice cold its not as max refreshment, but its close, and this is an awfully minor critique of a delicious beer. the hop profile is killer, some noble spiciness at first, then juicy citrus, kiwi fruit, and white grape, along with white wine and green gooseberry brightness, and definite lemon, really summery, fresh and clean. i like the simplicity of the beer otherwise, just bittering hops, pale two row barley, lighter pils malt, and maybe nothing else but the yeast, which is minimal, crisping and drying, but without a ton of flavor overall, not european to me, not bready like that. the grain is familiar, perhaps just a tad toasted, but out of the way except for in the feel. great carbonation keeps this vibrant. its really all about the lorien for me, lime and lawn and tea and lushness. summery but not like tropical summer, northwestern summer seems right on. quality is enormous, pelican rules!
