Summer IPA created in collaboration with Homegrown Public House & Brewery. All proceeds go to Children's Repertory of Oregon Workshops.
For Pelican's third release in the Coastal Collaboration Series, we partnered with Homegrown Public House and Brewery from Florence, Oregon. Together we created the perfect summertime IPA using Star Party yeast. This super-powered yeast creates a golden IPA bursting with notes of passionfruit, pink guava, and citrus zest. Additionally, we loaded the mash with hops to punch up the hop experience to the next level. This IPA is equally intense but drinkable, with the perfect amount of bitterness to balance the juicy fruity character. Additionally, 100% of the proceeds of this beer go directly to C.R.O.W., a non-profit that provides high-quality professional arts opportunities to children and adults in a rural coastal region with otherwise limited access.

Pours a dark golden orange with a medium head that stays for a while. The aroma is tropical fruit and malt, with the same for the taste with very mild bitterness. Another good beer from Pelican. Have had for about 3 years, had last night.

Look: Clear burnt orange with a frothy head that erupts to the rim and slowly settles, leaving a ring of lacing behind as it does
Aroma: Pink grapefruit, guava, limes, mango, mandarins, floral hop notes, freshly baked bread, and wafts of raspberries
Taste: Hits hard with guava, mango, and grapefruit up front and quickly followed by citrus fruits and floral hops. Bready malt is present throughout and lays the perfect canvas for the hops to continue their show before closing with light berry notes and a hop bite
Mouthfeel: Full, pretty clean, medium-high carbonation, and zero dryness on the finish
Overall: This is tasty stuff. I love the coastal collaborations I’ve had so far and this one is a unique flavored IPA that with the lighter malt bill is perfect for summer quaffing. A fun combo of tropical fruit, citrus, light berry, and floral notes is interesting too and the bottle mentions Star Party yeast, which I now want to look up. Recommended
