Filled with excitement for a new day, the Sunrise Surfers rise to chase the coming swell. They embrace a sense of vitality and by day's end celebrate with a toast to the adventures had and the waves found. With a brilliant straw-yellow color, and a floral, herbaceous aroma, Sunrise Surfer Blonde Ale is a refreshing, tasty treat. A light toasted flavor comes from the Pilsner malt and combines with bread-like wheat character to give this beer a crisp, lean malt aspect. Finishing smooth and clean, Sunrise Surfer Blonde Ale exhibits wonderful balance and character, ready to sip as evening calls forth the plans of the Sunrise Surfer’s next adventure

Pours a nice light clear golden color with a small head. Aroma is floral spice and bready malt. Mouthfeel is light and taste is slightly hoppy with a nice mellow sweetness. Very refreshing and a good Blonde Ale. Rated 5-11-2023

Look: Straw yellow and slightly cloudy with a foamy head that builds and dissipates to a lid, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Straw, freshly baked bread, lemongrass, soda crackers, wafts of floral hops, and some pilsner malt
Taste: Starts off with a nice floral bouquet that includes cherry blossoms, yellow azalea, and daylily and followed quickly by sharp lemon notes. Bread, crackers, and some pilsner malt are the backbone throughout and closes with lemons and flowers
Mouthfeel: Light but full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and slightly soft on the finish
Overall: I dig it. This is a tasty and well-made American Blonde that also weaves a little Pilsner-esque character in and in a delicious and seamless way. Nice citrus and floral hop presence as well and a refreshing experience overall. Definitely worth a try

a very basic blonde ale, not the most compelling thing these legends brew, but its good to have a new one from pelican, and this offers a little more flavor in a nice light one, not better than most blonde ales necessarily, but definitely a little more to it, cool with me, im tired of the samey generic yellow ales that always spring up this time of year. this is insanely pale in color, but do not let that fool you, its not quite fully clear and a lot of grain character is present here, a dusty almost german pils element, hefty minerals and an organic sort of profile, crackery and cereal forward, dry sure, but its malty for the style, shocking for its color really. it seems not completely fresh to me, like there is somehow a little oxidation in these cans, and it manifests as kind of bitter and cheap at the end, even though its not especially hoppy in the traditional sense, unexpected from these guys, but it lacks the usual pelican refinement. notes of biscuit, dried flowers, and wet rocks to me, great carbonation which keeps it refreshing when its good and cold, warms up a little strangely, faint lemon cleaner and old bread. i like this not being generic, but its not dialed either, and some amount of drinkability is sacrificed even though the body remains pretty light and its dry overall. might be better in a food context, chips and salsa comes to mind. not bad, but not peak pelican either...

12 oz can poured into a pint mug.
Purchased from Safeway in West Salem, OR.
$10.99
Usual blond ale looks. Clear straw yellow with a slightly frothy white head.
Aroma is of freshly baked bread. And some lemon. Some floral hops, but very little.
Taste is similar. Bread, lemon zest and a bit of floral hops.
The mouth feel saves this from complete mediocrity. Its rather good. Well carbonated and not cloying.
Overall a simple beer that will do great for the upcoming caping, surfing, hiking season. Straight from the can would be fine.
