Pours a clear golden color with a 2-finger head that goes away rather quickly with a little lacing sticking to the glass. Aroma is citrus and vanilla and bitter carbonation. Taste is light lager malts and slightly bitter hops through to the finish. It tastes like an IPL, which is what a cold IPA is anyway. Easy drinking and refreshing. Rated 8-8-2023

Look: Bright looking medium orange with a silky off-white head that slowly settles to a pillow, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Oranges, cantaloupe melon, boysenberries, guava, tangerine, wafts of nectarine, and bready malt
Taste: Kicks off with a hit of guava and sharp orange-led citrus that lingers for a moment and followed by some berry presence. Melon is evident in the middle along with resinous pine that I didn’t pick up in the nose and closes with nectarine, orange, melon, and a big bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and dry on the finish
Overall: I dig it. I’ve had beers with Lotus hops in them amongst others but never solitary so wanted to try this as it was part of a mix 12pk of single-hop IPAs and conclude that it’s good. Lots of citrus, some melon, nectarine, and guava with light berry and pine presence to me, plus a big bite and dry finish, which I dig as well

everyone making a cold ipa these days, this is one of the first ones i have seen that doesnt look like a pils or something, its actually hazy, which is definitely not the norm for these, not super milky and thick, but perhaps a little more than just unfiltered, intentional. the nose here is great, the snappy crispness from the cooler ferment is obvious right away, not a lot of grain here, just a light crackery backdrop for modern fruity hops, which hit like sweet orange, pink grapefruit, limeade, and white cranberry, juicy and bright and essential, fresh as can be, a little alcohol peaking through somehow, but i dont mind it, bold without being green or forced. the flavor is clean too, nothing from the yeast but it does dry this out like crazy, and the grain tastes lighter than it looks, faintly nutty and perhaps a honey note, but its there on the palate only for a flash. its the hops that start and finish this one, lemongrass and tropical vibes up front, obvious orange and tangerine in the middle, modest bitterness, grassiness, and subtle peach and white florals late, this really evolves a lot as i drink it, crazy for how dry and fast it finishes. this is summery and seemed ideal on the patio at their new location, the sun hit mine a little prematurely and turned it a little skunky, but no denying this is quality beer with a nice crisp palate and a lovely contemporary hop profile. pelican can do no wrong!
