cool that this is so low alcohol but doesnt seem to sacrifice anything in the process, and i think the overall quality is quite high, but this is somewhat unexciting, especially among all the great pelican beers they have here. this almost drinks like a vienna type, but is drier and has a little more back end hops on it, but the malt build feels similar to me, toasty and enriched without being too heavy, and the yeast is subtly european to me, although its quite clean and mild. there are notes of toffee, tan leather, good quality dress shows, subtle cedar, raisin, and maple as well, along with some herbal hops bringing bitterness late to balance the grain. it still has a little body, the carbonation is good, and as it warms i can pick up trace smoke, astringency, and even a little peanut shell or something, earthy and well grounded, well refined, and seemingly patiently lagered. the quality is there, but the style rarely moves me, and of all the bangers we had here, this really didnt stand out, maybe at another brewery, but not at pelican. still, a cool add to their lineup, will be nice and more fitting as fall slips in. i love these guys and their siletz bay spot is fire!
