From what I was told this is basically the riptide red ale fermented with a Belgian yeast.
It appears dark amber like red with a small slightly tan head.
It smells of peppery Belgian yeast, Sweet nutty malts. There is also a bit of a dark fruit smell.
It tastes strongly of fruity, peppery Belgian yeast. I get a bit of a roasted, nutty, slightly sweet malt flavor. There is a subtle bit of a hoppy grass taste to the beer as well.
There is a smooth moderate carbonation to the beer.
Overall a pretty good Irish red/ Belgian hybrid. It is not the best beer I have had from Pelican but it is a tasty beer for sure.
