This beer pours a nice light golden color with a small head that stays as a creamy thin top that turns into some lacing. The aroma is juicy tropical as is the taste with pineapple, orange and mango. Very easy drinking for a double IPA. Can shows 8.8%. 18 IBUs Purchased at Hazel Dell Safeway. BOD 1-24-2024. Rated 4-1-2024

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 7/29/24.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and a thick cap of frothy ivory foam.
Smell: sweet malt with an earthy, grassy, lemony hop aroma. Not too bad, but makes me think of a sweet pale ale more than a “tropical DIPA”.
Taste: there’s a bit more tropicality in the flavor than in the aroma, with some notes of passionfruit and papaya. Bitterness is up there, but with the malt being so sweet, it’s still not super balanced.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a moderate carbonation and a decent creaminess.
Overall: kinda sweet and heavy, and so not entirely to my taste. Fans of old-school DIPAs may like this more than me.

12oz can from HomeBrewStuff. Foggy dark golden pour, one finger fluffy white head. Light tropical aroma, mango. Taste is fruity, tropical, mango, melon and a nice hoppy bite . Solid DIPA, very approachable.

Clear golden amber brew with plenty of foam in the glass. Modest fruity aroma. Nicely spritzy on the tongue. Only slightly sweet with a tangy finish. Some dark flavors along with hints of pineapple, though I don't think "tropical" while sipping. Some berries, tangerine, and then the citrus peel. This is actually quite drinkable, with fruity flavors and restrained bitterness. Nor is the alcohol very much in your face, though eventually you realize it's a little hot as it slides down the gullet. From the 12 oz can brewed in Tillamook.

no surprise they are doing a line extension on their classic big boy, beak breaker, everyone is doing it right now, and this is right on trend, a fruity one with lower bitterness but not none, although i do think they did a good job retaining some of the identity of the original, like the beer is related, its not just marketing, and i appreciate that. this has pretty good clarity, is absolutely sparkling, light orange colored under darn near two inches of fizzy white head, looks awesome from the can. the nose is cool too, peachy to me, maybe nectarine, mandarin orange from the can, mango, tropical indeed, but like a lot of these, its hard to really imagine this level of fruitiness is all from hops, new belgium, firestone, everyone is doing it, got to be terpenes or "natural flavors" or something in this, although i guess i didnt inspect the can all that close. got to be some mosaic in this, i get both the catty and candied pineapple layers when i sip it, some sweetness to it, a little green bite too, all of which i like in this. some grain richness in terms of flavor, but the body stays light. a bit of honey malt or something doing its thing, keeping this balanced. dried apricot and mango, almost breakfasty notes as a result, nice minerality which moves to almost metallic as it warms, but this is clean as these go, no hot alcohol properties either, and less oily and objectively dank than is common in other northwestern examples, so it does drink a little dangerous. the high carbonation keeps it moving, even almost refreshing for what it is. the hop flavors are lovely, its fresh and easy as these go, distinctive too, but still related to the original, that overall lightness, some essences of the hops, i like this every bit as well, and am looking forward to the other five cans in my beer fridge...
