Here's a new one from Pelican, and it's a nice surprise. This is more drinkable than many double IPAs but this bigger one doesn't actually go overboard. The hops are huge and it's hot with alcohol, but the flavors stand out from the buzz.
Aromatic with lemon, pine, and -- I started to say canned heat, but maybe that's going a little far. The bitterness gets its talons into the taste buds, but that just reminds you to wait a bit before taking that next sip. This is more bright than dank, and the citrus is powerful. Some grapefruit peel in the finish and then the alcoholic heat. It's a worthwhile experience, or at least some hop concentrate to dose up your Dos Equis. From the 12 oz can dated 02/23/26.
