Pours a light brown decidedly lighter than almost any old ale I've come across, somewhat similar to winter welcome ale. Almost no head on it. An aroma of dusted books and oak.

Taste, lacking in character, hops, missing, malt missing, there is a little bit of the oak component, but even that is lacking, just some older grain kind of notes. I don't know what the alcohol is on it but it seems plenty. Has a dark fruit bitter undercurrent. Ground up twigs and berries full of earthiness. I'm not really sure what the deal is with this. I think the cobalt blue glass is kinda its most distinguishing feature. Other than that it drinks like a blend of a lager and a kvass.
