500ml can, day 21 of the Costco Canada 2014 Beer Advent calendar. Aaaah, drinking on Sunday.
This beer pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, tightly foamy, and somewhat caked off-white head, which leaves a low ceiling of sudsy cloud lace around the glass as it slowly recedes.
It smells of bready, doughy pale malt, crisp English muffins, a hard water flintiness, a touch of underripe apple fruitiness, and pleasant earthy, leafy, and grassy hops. The taste is a bit more acrid in its petrol ester soaked grainy cereal maltiness, with some middling apple and anjou pear fruit notes, and a much weaker earthy, leafy hoppiness than in the nose.
The carbonation is fairly active in its edgy frothiness, the body medium-light in weight, and actually more or less smooth, nothing really putting itself out there in terms of malfeasance here. It finishes off-dry, the grainy malt and subdued fruitiness starting to shoulder more of the overall load.
A generally inoffensive, very German lager, is pretty much all there is to this one. It starts out better than it ends, but, when all is said and done, it's the latter impression that lingers, so I wouldn't go so far as to recommend this 'Jubilee'.

There is not much to say about this beer. Like most of the Austrian beers this one is no better. Drinkable but not very inviting to have another one.
This beer i still available on the market, i bought in in a Billa supermarket in Tirol.
Poured in a normal glass the beer looks reasonable. White head and a yellow fluid. This is a no carbonation beer. A flat and somewhat watery beer. Good for the thirst.

I had this beer on-tap at a street cafe. It's a completely clear yellow liquid with a respectable white head. The aroms is clean, with a bit of malt in the background. The hop smell seemed a little restrained to me, but a bit of perfumy hops were in the distance. The taste is moderately sweet, although a little more malt flavor would have been nice. Moderately bitter, the beer did seem to border on being bland and watery. Moderate to low carbonation. All in all, it's a no-frills, everyday euro-lager. You get what you see.

Found in a Vienna grocery store, the standard brown half liter bottle features a shield shaped gold and white label featuring a unicorn in a shield above the name. No real ingredient information. Best before 2/2/07, I opened it on 10/28/06.
Pours a slightly cloudy yellow gold under a two finger white head that displays some contour as it recedes quite quickly, leaving a few lines and spots of lace. Practically non-existent nose, with just a hint of malt. The mouth is quite prickly and pretty light. The name implies that this is a special anniversary beer, but it is not clear what the occasion is. The taste also provides no hints. While it is not bad by any stretch, it is certainly not special. There's sweet malt here, plus a touch of fruitiness and a whisper of hops. Pretty standard fare. It's OK, but the event that inspired this brew must not have been particularly momentous.

Light yellow, still. Decent head, average compactness.
The smell is fully malted, with cereals and barley; maybe even some starch notes?
The taste is on the same line, with a strongest malt prevalence. A delicate hop in the finish. A very lighjt fruity? Apricot?
Medium body.
Malt again in the aftertaste, but the hop is present too. A hint of citron? Dry finish.

Pale gold colour. Nose is sweet malty, lightly grassy. Sweet at the start, honeyed sort of flavour, with some very light grassy hops towards the end, pretty bland though, and sweet. Felt like it was already starting to deteriarate, even though the use by date was April 04.
