Our luscious, big bodied stout, warming and soothing. Roasted cocoa, dark licorice, and a hint of bananas foster. Brewed with layer upon layer of dark malts and balanced nicely with our favorite CTZ hops

Two twelve ounce cans were emptied entirely into a clear glass liter mug. Very little, almost no light tan head was produced. Its aroma is very nice, with sweetly roasted malt giving aromatic hints of coffee, dark chocolate and even a little dried fig or date references. To taste, the black coffee and dark chocolate aspects are there with the roasted barley malt and alcohol. The taste of the alcohol is a positive, yet it certainly becomes more obvious as it slides down the esophagus, warming it so. It's visual is black coffee in color, with mahogany edges and very lowly carbonated, as its lack of any head suggests. This drinks boldly roasted malt forward and a little hop influenced. Subtle notes of anything else are hard to detect, as after those and the alcohol hit, the taste buds are overwhelmed. Overall, it's a decent version of an Imperial Stout. Its low carbonation, even for the style, reduces the mouthfeel rating. It's basically a no frills Imperial Stout, providing the basic modest hopping and dominant roasted barley malt, with an acceptable taste of a high ABV. It can go down easily, without any nuances being missed and provide a quick high and happy feeling.
