What's this? An applewood smoked light ale? I'm interested. Against The Grain does it again!
Semi cloudy golden, with limited lace.
Nose subtle. Smoky applewood is definitely instantly recognizable. Smoke, wood, and barbecue permeate. Impressive.
Tastes even better than it smells. Very smoky and woody, of course, reminding of a delicious barbecue or crisp bacon entree (but minus the meat). Delicious! This one's plenty rich, and may not appeal to drinkers not familiar with rauchbiers. Me? I think this is a real treat. Would order this again, no prob.
