Clean, crisp and ideally suited for impending hotter days ahead- what could be called a hop-forward blonde ale or a light bodied pale ale- the tropical taste of "pacific rim" hops lead the charge.
The bright golden ale starts off with a wafer-thin sweetness of caramel and honey. Once the hops embark onto the senses, a notion of honeysuckle, perfume and citrus set in.
The middle dries considerably, taking with it much of the candied sweetness. A honeycomb structure of malt remains, becoming an armature for citrusy grapefruit, orange and lemon; tropical pineapple, mango and kiwi; and a flowery-herbal taste than hedges on lemongrass and verbena.
Refreshing in finish, its citrusy taste turns to acute bitterness that stands above the drying malts but still remain polite. Its slightly hop-balanced tilt reveals a mild grain taste and texture with a return of furniture polish in aftertaste.
Cottony in its head character, its lacing is well defined as Pacific Rim Career transports us to tropical climates with each and every sip. ...well suited for those lazy Kentucky summer days.
