Canned 2015; drank 10/13/15 @ the Yarchives.

Semi-opaque dull orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big khaki head; a curtain of lace.

Wheat, faint apricot & corn notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Faint apricot & wheat flavors up front; corn notes on the finish. Inoffensive but lethally boring.

Why bother?

This was another undated can so I have no idea when I traded for this! Not a bad beer and as easygoing as it's alcoholic content would indicate. Not as good as imported examples or even something from Ommegang but I enjoyed it enough as it allowed me a change from the regular IPA's that fill my basement!

The pour to this was typical as the dark honey liquid was quite thin and full of a fine haze from the minute pieces of sediment. A fair amount of frothy head topped this of f as the lacing was in long, soapy sections that never quite formed into rings. Lots of apple, grape, light wood, and Belgian yeast in the muted nose as the taste contained all of those as well. Felt a bit like cider because of the sweetness with a basic, biscuit presence underneath it as the fruit flavors weren't too exotic or strong. Lots of bread in the aftertaste alone with saltines to round out the body.

This is as textbook a session beer as they come and with the light amount of carbonation, the understated flavors stuck around until the next sip. Not a bad beer as this was a change from more ordinary fare but the flavors didn't quite do it for me. Worth a go once for the middle of a drinking session, such as the one I'm having tonight!

L: Clear with a big white head. Fairly good retention. Sheets of lacing are left behind.

S: Lightly sweet grainy malt, honey, orange blossom, apple, coriander, hay.

T: Apple, honey, lightly toasted malt, grass, hay, apple, orange, coriander.

F: Light, but not watery. Lots of active carbonation. Lightly dry finish.

O: A solid session ale! Not too Belgian-like, but smooth, crisp, and refreshing. I like it.

This had a nice maltiness.
Hints of biscuit with a very slight amount of tartness. Crisp

Surprisingly dark amber color -- like a dark Oktoberfest -- with a three-fingered, tan-tinted head. Decent lacing.

Sweet, bready aroma up front, a bit of dusty yeast, with a hint of paint thinner behind.

Plain Jane taste of watery, wet bread up front. A kiss of malt sweetness, smokiness and nuttiness mix together on the back end. Very watery feel. A metallic, paint thinner impression appears in the aftertaste.

Easy drinking enough, but I'm not feeling this one. Not at all what I expected from a Golden Ale. No canned on date.

16 oz. Can

Pours a pretty nice clean/clear dark golden amber color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy/foamy two-finger plus white head, which also leaves some really nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, hoppy, slight citrus/yeast, grainy. The taste is pretty nice, malty, kinda hoppy, slight yeast/citrus, grainy. Medium body. Overall, a nice thirst quencher.
