Double brown ale aged in bourbon barrels in honor of the greatest rock and roll band on this or any other time: JACKYL. Drinking this fine beer will make you feel like the sun is shining down on you, and the heat of love’s flames, down on you. You’ll love the thought of me coming... down on you. This is only weird if you make it that way.

A: The beer is very dark brown in color and is almost black when viewed from afar. Some traces of red are visible when the glass is held up to a bright light. It poured with a quarter finger high beige colored head.
S: Light aromas of bourbon from the barrel aging are present in the nose.
T: The taste has light to moderate flavors of bourbon and underlying notes of chocolate and nutty malts.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied on the palate and also has some warming from the bourbon.
O: I really enjoyed this brown ale as you could definitely get a lot of the bourbon flavors but they weren't overpowering, especially since the underlying beer wasn't stronger like a stout. The brewer did a good job of matching up the right amount of barrel aging with the style of beer. Other than the bourbon, no traces of alcohol are perceptible.

A 750ml bottle with no bottled on or best before date that I could see. Poured into a snifter.
Appearance: A clear dark brown colour with a half finger beige head that dissipated fairly quickly but settled to a ring around the glass. There is only sparse to no lacing.
Aroma: Coffee beans, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and oak with only a hint of bourbon.
Taste: Sweet and roasty. Caramel, molasses, vanilla, oak and bourbon with hints of milk chocolate.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate prickly carbonation.
Overall: Perhaps a little bit too sweet for me, but the nice bourbon and oak flavours do make up for that minor flaw.

750 ml bottle, no dating that I noticed on it. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a dark brown color with about an inch light tan head that stayed around for a while. There's a decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like bourbon, vanilla, caramel, oak, chocolate and coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some roasted malt and dark breadiness. Nice amount of bitterness in the finish, too. Aroma seems sweeter compared to the flavor. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's smooth, slick and easy enough to drink, even with it being a little boozy. I thought this was good, certainly worth picking up a bottle if you've never had it before. I wouldn't mind trying it again in the future. $14.99 a bottle.

This one pours a murky dark brown, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like caramel, coffee, bourbon, and oak.
I don't always like this brewery, but this is a very solid effort. There's some honey, caramel, chocolate, and coffee, and breadiness, with silky bourbon, and some light oak. It tastes super creamy, too, which is nice.
This is medium bodied, and fairly creamy and full, with a good level of carbonation for the style.
This is a highly enjoyable beer- one of the best I've had from AtG.

Pours a very very dark brown color, almost black. Definitely looks like a porter or stout. Nice thick cream colored head that left a thick wall of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is of sweet caramel and vanilla. Almost milk stout like. Not much from the barrel.
The taste is sweet. Big caramel notes. Definitely pick up the barrel in the taste. Nice vanilla and oak flavors. Good bourbon flavor. Some roasty notes from the malt.
The feel moderate to full with soft carbonation. Sweet on the palate but not overly so. Slightly sticky in the finish. Smooth.
Not sure this is a brown ale but it's very tasty. The beer is a good showcase for the bourbon.

Very dark brown with two fingers of tan foam. Plenty of bourbon, molasses, oak, caramel and a hint of char in the smell. Taste adds vanilla and brown sugar to come across sweeter but equally as pleasant as the smell. Feel is boozy, smooth, creamy and heavy, very full bodied beer. No real weaknesses

Had on tap. Pours opaque, dark brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is big bourbon, vanilla, and baker's chocolate. Medium bodied, sweet, with moderate carbonation. Big beast of a beer. The bourbon flavors definitely dominate. Makes for a pleasant sipper. I prefer other bourbon beers more, but this one is good.

Bourbon barrel brown ale from ATG... Not sure what to pour this into - part of me says snifter because its barrel aged, part of me says pint because it a brown ale - went with my small snifter for the first pour... Slightly translucent brown-black in the glass, with but a slim cap of tannish foam on top, a few lace motes trailed behind, but slipped back down into the beer after the sip. Rich aromas and flavors of bourbon, molasses, brown bread, vanilla, and dark brown fruits soaked in booze. Reminded me of a bourbon barrel quadruple - even had some impressions of banana bread and clove. Medium-bodied with mild carbonation, fairly sweet, not bitter; airs of woodsy tannins dry it out a bit on the finish. Elegant and classy.
