Pours a dark coppery red, with light immediate fizzing (mostly in the 750ml bottle itself) that eventually vanishes, appearing flat like a juice. This is consistent with the low carbonation on the mouthfeel and a long, sweet finish. All the right notes are here that you might expect from a strong Belgian dark on the lower end of ABV for the style, but the addition of brettanomyces adds a bit more stone fruit and tartness on the nose, and a bit of earthy brett funk, plums, and cranberry juice in the mouth. A less common application of brett, but well executed and quite enjoyable.
