1 PINT 9.4 FL OZ bottle
Served in a snifter
This beer pours black and is topped with two inches of mocha head that leaves a little lace.
The wine oak chips seem to battle the bourbon in aroma. I get vinous smells as well as chocolate and caramel.
The test is less chaotic. The bourbon comes through nicely with the occasional hints of wine. Flavors of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla are present.
Full, smooth mouthfeel
I feel that the red wine soaked oak chips compete with the bourbon barrel rather than compliment it. That being said I really enjoyed it, but I think that I would enjoy 70K more. It was interesting and very good. The 13% abv did not hurt at all either. The alcohol was well hidden except on the effects to my motor skills. As it warmed the wine flavor subsided leaving a better flavor.
