It is a mild pale ale that is hazy but not especially juicy. I've bought it in cans locally and had it at my nearby AAA ballpark (for $5 on special a couple of seasons back).

Opaque dark gold pour, few floaters, jysy off white head. Nose is muted tropical.
Taste shows pineapple, citrus, subtle mango, light kilned malt, oats, some floral. Light mouthfeel. Finish is light and fruity.

It's a modern American IPA, all right. The stark white foamy mess on the top, there in a clear glass Imperial pint mug confirms it. Quickly, it begins to recede unevenly and unattractively, leaving erratic lacing inside the glass. Beneath, is a brew somewhat dull in its honey-amber color and modestly hazy. The smell is mostly grains that aren't barley, with a hint of some kind of hopping. It tastes more like wheat than like oates. The hops carry the taste with a bitterness like unsweetened black tea. Unfortunately, the body isn't much better than a glass of unsweetened iced black tea. The inclusion of Innehaller Kornmalt only adds a peculiar effect to the taste and this really isn't good enough to have some more to see if the taste buds adjust. The bitter hopping, overall more earthy and just a little dank, are the only reason to even think about trying this. Another reason might be it was in the discounted section going for $2.50 a pint can.

Not the way I prefer to review a beer but sometimes you just gotta roll with it. Drinking from a 16 oz. can served from the concession stand at a local amphitheater. I can tell from a person sitting nearby it’s a reasonably hazy golden color. The smell is tropical fruit; mango and citrus. The taste is a mirror of the smell. The hops are noticeable but definitely not heavy. Finishes very clean and crisp. This is a very drinkable beer especially on a late summer evening waiting for the band to start playing. Cheers.

Unless you're from Louisville, the people there will never accept your pronunciation of their town. Get ready to be corrected constantly. The best that I can tell is that you have to mumble it in such a way to get all those alphabets into one syllable. But if you ask the folks at Against the Grain, they'll say "Loo-a-vuhl"
Hazy golden and topping off with a frothy white cap, the beer of this pronunciation visits the nose with a fruity bouquet that spans tropical fruit, berry and orchard fruit with the basic citrus character of pale ale. With its first crisp and malty taste a lightly savory taste of granola pays tribute to the milder honey, crusty and shortbread character of its sweeter grain profile.
The hops open up on the middle palate with a succulent blend of orange, apricot and mango with hints of papaya in a bright hop flavor. Juicy with notions of cantaloup, the malt influence starts to fade and the fruity flavors develop into suggestions of currant, lemon and lime. With a smooth bitterness to follow, its herbal taste late resembles that of tea, sassafras and verbena.
Easy drinking, smooth and fresh, the medium bodied beer carries a creamier grain profile early but dries considerably for a crisp and refreshing finish with suggestions of fresh and grassy botanicals, hemp and spruce in a softer bitterness to follow.
