This was another beer that I picked up on my recent run out west, as I bought it at the at the Stateline Shop Quik in Warsaw, Kentucky. Traded for a few beers from these guys a while ago but this was the first from them that I actually bought and for a Pilsner, this was pretty close to being spot-on for the style
Golden, hazy, and lacking in visible carbonation, this had enough foam topping it off as that was frothy and uneven. No lacing was left behind once the suds settled as that was easily this brew's weakest aspect. Noble Hops, bread, and grain were in the nose as the taste closely followed suit. A bit of spice and potato chip gave this some depth along with some body as there was plenty of bite to be had. Not very sour and low in bitterness as this didn't last in my glass for very long!
Much of that had to do with the lack of alcohol, as it would have been easy to quaff in a few in a sitting. Dated 8/27, this held up well and was fun to kick back with a day behind the wheel. Lots to like here as this would be suited for any drinking session, anytime of the year. Nice to see an outline of the Bluegrass State on the label as it's one of the better offerings that I've had from the Commonwealth!
