Nice, clear copper color with a frothy head, good retention, and nice lacing. Nice punchy bouquet with floral, and citrus notes. A typical IPA nose. Orange rind, lemon, and pine trees.
Take a sip and the hops kick in almost immediately, but there is always a nice, bready, malty presence to keep things from getting out of control. This beer is very well balanced for my palate. The brewers did not hold back on the hops and it lacks the slightly sweet flavor one sometimes finds in extremely dry IPAs. Good firm mouthfeel and a nice dry finish that leaves you ready for more.
This beer was a real treat. An IPA that drinks like an IIPA. If it was regularly available in my area, I'd probably buy it often.
