A: Pours a clear, light gold with a thin, creamy, lingering white mousse.
S: Aromas of grass, straw, damp hay, sweet corn, and minerals are present on the nose.
T: The entry is smooth and malty with a combination of sweet corn, mineral, heavy cream, and biscuit flavors. Around mid-palate, gentle notes of lemon zest, lime, grass, straw, and damp hay emerge. The finish is clipped and dry with a combination of corn, biscuit, cream, lemon, and grass flavors.
M: Very light in body, fairly firm, and very dry. Carbonation is active and crisp. As one would expect from a beer this light, there is no trace of alcohol whatsoever. It's a light, quaffable ale, but there is a little more heft than one would expect from a beer of this style.
O: Cream ales are, as a rule, nothing to get too excited about, but this one does more to break away from the pack than any cream ale I've tried. Still, it's not all that imaginative or deep, but this ale is very refreshing. If you just have to try a cream ale in the near future and happen to be in Louisville, then I suppose this is the one you should try.
