When Jeppe from Evil Twin told us that he wanted to brew at AtG and that he wanted to bring the guys from the Aviary in Chicago, we knew it would be weird. What we didn’t anticipate was standing on Main Street grilling the husks off 100 pounds of corn. The base of this beer is an hearty porter with roasty, chocolatey, coffee notes and the addition of burnt corn husks layers on corn, grainy, and toasted marshmallow flavors. It’s an oddball brew for oddball brewers. We would serve it inside a ball of ice if we had a sufficient ice room.

Served in pint glass.
A - Nice pour from a growler, good looking light brown head with deep brown almost black body. Head didn't stick around to long. Really like the look of this porter, it almost has a silky look.
S - Getting nice sweet dark malts with hints of coffee and chocolate. Overall enjoy the smell of this one and find it inviting.
T - Definitely picking up the sweet malt and a strong coffee presence. Some nice chocolate flavors follow and I'm also getting a hint of a roasted or smokey type flavor that is unique. Not really getting much alcohol taste at all for 7.7 abv. and moderate carbonation.
M - The mouthfeel is not what I would have expected for this beer, a little bit of an almost watery feel to it. It is pretty smooth but just not the viscous type feel I was wanting.
Overall this beer was good. Would recommend that you try it out if you come across it. A pretty limited beer I think between some great brewers, Against the Grain and EvilTwin.
