Had a pint at The Cask Cafe with my tempeh reuben sandiwich (really good).
A very pretty glass of beer. Deep dark brown with a thick coffee ice cream head that lingered a good while. A very smooth drinker. Lots of carbonation, tempered by the medium body. Notes of milk chocolate and burnt toast. Rich and satisfying. Reminded me a little bit of Murphy's. The 6.5% really crept up on me. But hey, it's New Year's.
