"The Northern Craftsman"
Smell is an unoffensive balance of mildly sweet malt and saazy hops. A creamy grain malt taste up front in the mouth and a medium spicy hop impact before the aftertaste -- which is nil. This brew was distinct to me for being notably not bitter.
The can claims that this beer was created to match the foods of Hokkaido. Being unremarkable overall I suppose could help it "pair" with any of the foods Hokkaido has to offer. Why not. I wonder if this one will last. It seems aimed solely at getting some of the market that Sapporo claims with its "Classic" available only in Hokkaido -- which this one also claims.
