On tap at Vermont Tap House, Williston Vermont.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a glossy semi-transparent burnt yellow color with some carbonation rising to fill a cap of a little white foamy head. No lace.
The aroma had the apricot flesh and skin, somewhat sour with the tart and an ample amount of sweet playing with a little bit of grassy hops and then a nice semi-sweet woody to citrusy sort of background.
The flavor was a fine blend of sour to tart to sweet, all seemingly able to find their way to run into each other intricately yet delicately and roaming into the aftertaste just as I hoped it would.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Sour harshness was actually somewhat tame.
Overall, odd for a Vermonter to be the first one to review a Belgian beer on here, but hey, am I arguing? Nope, because this is one fine sour ale that I would love to come back to during this time of the year!
