When belgians start making bocks, one should always be cautious. Nevertheless: Lovely dark amber colour, but the thin layer of foam is less impressive. Smell is a bit absent: some vague hints of yeast, caramel and pilsener hops. The taste in the mouth is also weak: some malt, some caramel, that's basically it. The aftertaste after the swallowing is wonderful though: a balanced and complex blend of caramel, coffee, dark malt and hop flavours. Not enough to rescue this brew though. Medium bodied and a bit too carbed in the mouth feel. Kind of a bipolar beer: some good stuff, some bad stuff. End result is therefore, average.
