The always sour and slightly funky pale ale of De Brabandere undergoes a facelift. Flooding the Petrus brand with cranberry gives the tried and true beer a unique and spirited update.
Deep and rusty mauve, the cloudy Petrus Cranberry Rosé rises with a quick froth but it's acidity struggles to retain. A tangy and fruity scent rises soon after to greet the nose with citrus, berry, cider and wine all with a twinge of dry corkish funk. Sweetness hits the early palate with a sense of candied fruit, toasted biscuit and wafer before the sourness arrives and washes much of the maltiness away. Bracingly tart, the acids bring dry wine, cider and weathered lime and lemon to the forefront all awash with tangy and spicy cranberry to finish.
Medium-light in body, the beer shares hints of flanders types of sour ale right down to it's dry funkiness of burlap and sourdough to finish.

6 oz draft pour at Lures Bar & Grille. Pours a pale, slightly cloudy pink color. Small head. Aroma and flavor offer cranberry, light malt, and way too much floral rose. Totally unbalanced. Also, the cranberry and rose are too similar which is probably why the balance is so out of whack. YMMV but for me it's a total and unpleasant miss.
