11.2 oz bottle
Pours dark maroon red with a small receding off-white foam head. Smells like sweet concentrated cherry syrup, dusty woody nutty oak, walnut, slight amaretto, hints of toasty dark caramel malt, chocolate, and floral earthy herbal hops. Tastes like juicy sweet dark cherries, cherry syrup, subtle cola, some chocolate, mild vanilla, woody nutty oak, hints of toasty dark caramel malts, brown sugar, toffee, dried fruits, and floral earthy herbal grassy hops. The taste is definitely more restrained than the aroma at this point with a rather dry finish. Feels medium-light bodied, slick with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a really nice Flemish style aged red ale.

Copenhagen 24/7 2017. 33 cl bottle from Fakta. Pretty informative label stating that this is part their sour Foeder Aged Pale and part Dubbel Bruin. Should ensure a Sour Sweet experience.
Pours clear deep brown with strong red tinge. Off white head. Settles as 1cm thick layer of fluffy foam.
Aroma is strong and sweet. Caramel, toffee, shoe polish and kind of perfumed marzipan.
Medium strong carbonation and medium thick palate.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed by more subdued sourness. Aftertaste is sour and semi dry.
I like the concept about mixing the foeder beer with more regular beer but I think that they are overdoing the sweet side a bit on this one.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 8.5%. Dark red colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of cherries, cherry kernels, marzipan, oak and fruit vinegar. Medium sour flavour with the same elements as the aroma.

After a good year long period of indulging in all sorts of Flanders sours, reds and browns this is just my favorite one of the lot.
Duchesse,Jacobin,Goudenband,Rodenbach,Bourgogne de Flanders,Vanderghinste etc
it just has the right combination of sour, fruit and a velvet mouthfeel and alcohol level that nails it for me.
Nice dry finish with perfect carbonation as well.
FYI,this was a pretty exhaustive evaluation.
I rounded up at least half a dozen btls of each one(some more naturally)
And tasted them a various times but always at least 3 in an evening, sometimes more!
So I could get a handle on back to back tastings and see what I really liked directly comparing them against each other.

330ml can into a teku. Best by 12/7/23.
Nice looking beer. Dark reddish purple with a persistent reddish tinged head, thick streaks of lacing.
Aroma, taste, and finish is all cherry. Quite sour, with tart and sweet notes. The cherries are real, but they come off slightly artificial, spoiling the drink a little.

Poured from an 11.2 oz. can. Has a very dark amber color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is dominated by cherries. Taste is tart cherries, some malts, a hint of alcohol. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

Dark green color with a dark tan head. Nose is slightly cherry and taste is the dark cherries with the fizz. Very above average Belgian red in my opinion

Best by 10/10/21…oops
You know, it’s pretty rare to see Oud Bruins around these days, and this one is especially strange. 15% foeder beer and 85% double brown aged on cherries and blended. It’s not like it’s the typical blending of old and new batches, and more like a bastardized style hybrid. Nevertheless, I’m pretty excited to try it despite the age
Pours an opaque purplish brown with 2 finger of pinkish orange head that fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The cherries definitely come through in a serious way in the nose, just tons of tart fruit. I’m picking up on aromas of sour cherry, red wine, dark toast, vinegar, light toffee, sharp oak, and brown sugar
It takes quite a step down in taste from the enticing aroma, but I still find something to enjoy here. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting tart cherry, brown bread, sharp vinegar, oak, and light caramel. The swallow brings notes of sour cherry (quickly fading to sweeter cherry), toffee, brown bread, toast, earthy yeast, and light leather
A medium body pairs with aggressive scrubbing carbonation, resulting in full yet silky beer. Finishes a tad sticky but nothing that gets in the way
It’s possible that the lack of freshness dragged this a bit, so I’ll have to give it a break in the overall. Pretty good stuff
