Barbary Fig India Pale Ale Brewed with Prickly Pear, 5.5% ABV, is a fruity, juicy IPA. EL Nopal is a cactus native to México. This beer was fermented on its fruit, known as La Tuna in spanish, or Prickly Pear or Barbary Fig. The word Nopal is derived from nōpalli, from the Aztec language Nahuatl. Nopales, including the pads or leaves, fruit, and seeds, have been used for thousands of years. Our backyard nopal has been in our family for generations, and we hope to pass on its fruit and the culture it embodies to generations to come.
