A: Deep, clear gold/amber color. Poured a one finger white head that dissipated to an even skim. Lots of sticky lacing on the glass. Decanted continually.
S: Lots of hop aroma; grapefruit, citrus, pine and some peppery spice. Little malt presence.
T: Very muted relative to what I was anticipating with the aroma. Biscuity malts up front followed by light resiny hops that linger a bit through a bitter finish.
M: Light body. Ample carbonation. Not as big or resiny and coating as many IPA's.
D: Drinkable, but pretty tame for the style. Hop aromas are much more pleasing than the actual taste turned out to be. Material at the tasting indicated Lat 44 is 50 IBU's (minimum for the style) and is made with 5 hop varieties grown in Oregon on the 44 North Lattitude.
