Brown pour, thin head on it. Aroma was bitter nuts, not enough roasting, too meaty.
Taste was bitter, brown ale reminiscient. Not enough malt, mouthfeel to really be taken seriously as a stout.
Niche product.

Wow, this bottle must have been like 10 years old +. Moving and setting up a new cellar will reveal some long lost brews I guess. Shame I only had one.
Poured out a dark, yet kind of thin beer, thin head, beige, 1/3". Aroma wasn't really hazelnuttish, but more of roasted plastic. Makes me wonder even more when the label says "stout with hazelnut flavor". . . so it isn't hazelnuts added, just the flavor? Hmmm. . . extract? Not that it matters to me.
Taste, more like a robust brown ale than a stout, or maybe an old school porter, but you get the idea. Leaves it a little more bitter, since there just doesn't seem to be the two row nor chocolate malt to keep this one absorbing everything in it. I think the seal was pretty good, as the beer was plenty carbonated, a decade and more later.
This beer wasn't particularly good when it was fresh, but with age, it did actually mellow it out enough to be decent, hiding the lack of body at first, diminishing the bitter aspect, but never really delivering on its hazelnut promise.
