It's the art of brewing in its purest form for true wheat beer connoisseurs: "Original" – the traditional wheat beer brewed unaltered in accordance with the original recipe of Georg I. Schneider since 1872 – and since then simply marquee. Of a deep amber colour, harmonically balanced and strong. That's what Bavaria tastes like. And that's also what coming home tastes like - in the comfort of your own four walls as well as at your convivial "Stammtisch".

Poured out of 16.9 oz bottle into one of my weizen glasses, this beer pours a mostly cloudy/hazy, medium to dark golden color with a big white head that's well over an inch thick when first poured. Colorwise, this already strikes be as darker in color than the vast majority of other Hefeweizens I've had and also not quite as cloudy/hazy as most. Aromas of wheat and bready, toasty malts with caramel notes and banana, clove, and a bit of bubblegum too to be sure from those yeasty esters. A very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned notes of wheat and bready, toasty malts with caramel notes that's followed by the banana, clove, and bubblegum. Not really any discernible hop profile here, and that's not unexpected. An interesting take with the flavor profile here. Doesn't really hit the mark for me for what I expect flavor wise for a Hefeweizen, as the banana, clove, and wheat notes are not nearly as pronounced as they should be and are replaced with the sweetness from the bubblegum and toasted caramel malts. I like the flavors here, don't get me wrong. They just don't seem to fit this style/type of beer. Drinks more like a Weizenbock or a Dunkelweizen. Has a fairly crisp, also smooth, light to medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish with a nice toasted, sweet malty and bready aftertaste.

Honest for its style its one of the best out there. Claßic white beer taste, no woerd fruit novelties, easy to drink and feels great, just wish it had better distribution.

Copenhagen 22/3 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled torv, Kbh. Ø. Overcrowded label with a picture of the founder, the brewery and a painting of what looks like the sun. Busy.
Pours hazy amber with a creamy white head. Stable. Settles as a thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing,
Strong aroma of wheat beer. Sweet lemonade and banana meeting strong fruity sourness. Prominent notes of yeast as well.
Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate. Oily and lightly tingling,
Flavor is sweet and slightly lemonadelike followed by a more sour and fruity - almost acidic - aftertaste.
A quite fine Weiss beer avoiding being overly sweet.

Very pleasant wheat beer taste. Pretty smooth drinking with a slight banana aroma but not taste. Far from a connoisseur of wheat beers but this one is quite enjoyable and would recommend.

World Class beer. The look isn't the most appealing of all the Hefeweizen's I've tried. But the taste and smell are unrivaled. One of the oldest and best Hefeweizens in the world and definitely an incredible beer experience.

Nice smooth hefeweizen. No overbearing banana and clove taste.

Very nice wheat beer taste, banana bread-y and easy to sip. Wheat beers are my favorite and the best ones stick to a "liquid bread" moniker. This one was no different. Very tasty, but not quite the best.

500ml bottle pours a murky brown/amber with a small creamy white head that lasts and leaves some lacing. Aroma is wheat with cloves and banana. Taste is slightly sweet. Body is light to medium. Nothing off or complicated here, just a classic hefeweizen.
