500ml bottle poured into tulip.

Pours a slightly cloudy gold with two fat fingers of white head that leaves some splotchy lace as it recedes.

Smells of cereal grains, bready pale malt, mild lemon zest, sliced apple, dusty pepper and grass clippings.

Tastes of white bread, soft fruity citrus and pomme notes, more peppery yeast and grassy hops.

Feels soft and smooth. light bodied with gentle carbonation. Finishes off-dry.

Verdict: Recommended. Nice and light and tasty, easy enough to put away.

This one pours the typical Bavarian lager colour, but is a bit cloudy, not quite clear. Two fingers of bone white head, very little lacing but that doesn't mean much to me other than looking pretty. It sure smells good. Honey, doughy malt, and white pepper. On the palate, more of that sweet honey malt, which provides a solid backbone throughout. On the finish, there is a lemon pepper presence, but more grassy hops presence than the typical Bavarian lager. The honey flavour is also stronger than the typical Bavarian bread dough malt. The mouthfeel is superb, super refreshing and feels so good going down. Overall an excellent beer, a little different from the typical Bavarian Helles. Honestly I'm more impressed by this beer than by any of Schneider's Weissbiers. Not that they aren't good, but that's just my preference. And it's just that good.

scoring this on tap today seems like a rare hit, something pretty rad and unexpected. its such good helles, so german on the malt and yeast side, so crisp, but also so uniquely hoppy, still noble to me, but this is floral in a wild way, orange blossom, peonies, white tea leaves, elderflower, jasmine, berry buds, its nuts, all fresh and intense in the aroma but also in the flavor, the whole back half of this is defined by hops to me, unexpected in a pale german lager, but here we are. the yeast profile is rad too, crackery and old worldy, simple, flavorful, quintessentially german, and somehow in service of the hops like it rarely is. another cool feature here is the texture, its fully effervescent, a little hazy in appearance but brilliantly light without being even a little bit watery feeling. the aftertaste is awesome, its fairly bitter, and there are minerals throughout that make this sort of place specific too. i like all the beers these guys make, but this helles seems on another level, especially on tap. is this new from them or just new to me? perhaps a new gold standard for the style, especially if you like them on the hoppier side. downright magic!

A: Golden, very clear, some sparkling wine style bubbles, medium sized head which disappeared fairly quickly.

S: Fresh noble hops, fruity, almost had tomato notes.

T: Tangy, fruity and sharp.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Different from the Weitzen type beers normally brewed by Schneider, quite nice.

Bottled in mid brown glass and picked up from The Epicurean in West Didsbury
Pours a clear golden body with decent enough white head
Aroma is real stalks of grain
Flavour is cornflakes
The plus is this makes for a very refreshing beer but even saying it is easy drinking rather than thin it just seems a bit flimsy

This is the 8th of Schneider's 10 current beers I'm getting to try. I felt lucky finding this one as it's quite a small brewery and I invariably rate their beer highly.
Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Pours clear gold with a 2mm white foam cap and there's lively rising CO2 as well.
S- I get some bready notes otherwise quite mild.
T- Nice balance between bready malts and a rising hoppy-dry aspect into the finish. Very trad and pared back.
F- It's superficially quite a simple profile but then again such beers leave nowhere to hide poor brewing.
O- I also notice this is my 40th Helles style beer. One of my highest ever ratings of any beer 4.59 went to AugustinerBrau Helles. It is also quite simple+pared back like this but it has something that just makes the stars align into something wonderful. This one sadly doesn't have that certain something. It would be interesting doing a comparison side-by-side of the two.
Very drinkable, sessionable (if at local prices), nothing 'wrong' to note, but also nothing memorable stands out that would make me want to buy it again at niche-import prices.
Review1980/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! ==> Labelled in English, unusual! Nothing else there of note.
500ml bottle BB: 08/12/21 £2.80 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

De Labirratorium. En copa Teku. Jugando a Fortnite (victoria). Brutal, una sensación en boca bestial con un delicioso perfil maltoso que resulta muy fácil de beber y refrescante. Me bebería una o dos mas
