Ideal for celebrations: "Meine Festweisse" - the lucid golden wheat beer, renewed from the traditional Oktoberfest beer recipe. Its fresh citrusy note is derived from precious Cascade hop and the fruity Schneider yeast - a real treat, unrivaled in freshness and drinkability.

Served in a weizen glass. Look is great! A cloudy, golden hue with good carbonation and two-inch head. Smell is bubblegum banana. Taste is similar with good mouth feel. Maybe a little sweet--probably the Schneider yeast I'm tasting--but very good.

Bottle. Clear light amber with a thick frothy head.
Smells of baking bread and allspice.
Less doughy and more spice upon tasting. A medium bitter finish.
Lightly carbonated with a moderate body.
The spicy hops were unusual for a festbier.

Taste is about the strongest clove I can remember, right from the start, and lingering on the tongue. Then clove in the nose until you want a gulp of malt liquor or something. This is almost entirely unlike a Festbier, so Schneider must be thinking of a different Fest. Some bitterness in the aftertaste along with the sweet malt and black pepper. Mouthfeel is silky and not as prickly as the pile of foam would suggest. Overall this is a wild ride and I am getting off halfway. From the 500 ml bottle.

Mine's just called 'Festweisse'. No mention of edel-weisse on the label or in the ingredients, like in the profile pic.

Tastes exactly like the regular Schneider hefe and the increase in ABV is imperceptible. Nothing more to add.

Cloudy, golden color. Big, white head. Banana, clove, wheat, and herbal notes in aroma. Classic taste of German weizen with some herbal bitterness at the end.

This was quite enjoyable, and a notch above their standard hefe. The 6.2% ABV brought a bit more depth, and I seemingly detected some traditional Oktoberfest lager qualities amongst the usual hefe wheat notes. Delicate and subtle. Very nice beer and will definitely reach for this over Schneider hefe

Top notch. It taste like apricots/peaches and a bit coppery. Banana hits in the end for me. But it most definitely smells like bananas upon opening bottle. This is a great hefe. Would happily purchase it again.

0.5l bottle into a weissbier glass.

Nice round smell. Fallen fruit and ripe banana, pond in a meadow, frogs croaking peacefully.

Thick crowded mouthfeel.
Fresh prunes, yellow raisins. Semi fermented fruit. Star anise. Poppy seeds and toasted sunflower seeds. Funky cereal, weisswurst. Rock salt minerality.

L -- Murky orange gold with a dense, foamy white head.

S -- DMS, light citrus, wheat malt & yeast.

T -- Lightly spicy clove, mellow wheat malt, tart citrus in the finish. More citrus and lightly bitter hops in the aftertaste.

F -- Soft to crisp mouthfeel with a medium to lightly robust, rather chewy body.

O -- Well, I'm actually disappointed that this beer doesn't have a very big Weizen character. I was expecting something closer to Schneider Original.

However, it's very drinkable, if not as true to *my* Fest expectations. I certainly wouldn't turn one down.

Note: I am in the process of moving all of my ratings from other beer sites to here, so that all of my ratings are consolidated in one place. The review below is an exact copy of my original RateBeer review from 01/19/2018.

1 pint, .9 oz. bottle.

The bottle says "Wiesen Edel-Weisse", but this site says that this beer is the same beer as mine. So this is where I will put my rating.

AROMA: Orange, banana, hay

APPEARANCE: Pours clear and golden with a thin, dirty-white head that dissipates quickly.

TASTE: Slightly sweet with just a hit of bitterness on the back end. Flavor has hints of orange, spices, and honey.

PALATE: Medium-bodied with a somewhat creamy texture and lively carbonation. The finish starts off sweet but ends with the tang of bitterness.

OVERALL: A nice beer with some good flavor. I can't say that it has anything that makes it stand out from the rest. However, it has a nice balance of body, flavor, and carbonation. So if you were to hand me one of these at Octoberfest then I would happily finish it and ask for another ... and another ... and another ...
