Drunk it on Everest Base Camp on my 50th birthday. Was worth the trip. Much better then Gorkha. Better carbonation and cleaner taste. The best nepali brew.

Pretty standard light lager character. One thing to really consider in this country is one the beer is being served at room temperature (which is pretty warm) and two the beer depending on where you get it could be pretty old. Some of those small towns the beer can sit for a while beware of the dusty bottles. Defiantly had a few of these beers that were a little skunky, before I had a nice fresh cold fresh one.

This was kind of a weird and random find...
It's a mildly hazed but very bright pale yellow beer with a small, sudsy white head that falls somewhat quickly, leaves a very thin layer, and drops very little equally thin spotting.
There's a dichotomy in this beer's aroma and flavor of dryness, even with a sort of vinous character, and sweet, with lots of pale fruits (apple and pear) as well as grapes. There's a touch of must from the malts and a hint of grass before getting a little grainy. It finishes on the tongue drier and mildly bitter, even.
As light-bodied as I expect, this lager wants to run thin to the point of being watery, but it stays with it and doesn't go too far. It's crisp and, while not perfectly clean, more than anticipated.

He often credits me as the founder and creator of The CANQuest (TM), but so many of the exotic CANs on my list have come from the incomparable in-person, local trader, tone77 that he is inextricably a part of my success. Many, many thanks! This is just one example.
From the CAN: "Special Limited Edition"; "EVEREST Premium Lager Beer is brewed with the 'STATES-OF-THE-ART' Technology using selected malt, adjuncts, hops, aroma hop, brewing water and pure yeast culture and finely blended to a unique flavour. A perfect [CAN]noisseurs' choice!"
It was an interesting Crack! in that it used an older, squarish tab as opposed to the rounder ones currently in use. I went to an inverted Glug, producing a finger, of soapy, bone-white head with mild retention. Color was a pale lemon-yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with a faint chill haze. No problem, because these are the real mountains, to which Coors and Coors Light could not hold a CANdle. I have no doubt that it is chilly up on Mount Everest. Nose had a grapey vinousness to it that did not bode well for my future. Mouthfeel was kind of thin and watery, but the taste was nowhere as bad as I had girded myself against. It actually had a pleasant toasted malt character, so I am unsure as to their use of "adjuncts" since I was not really tasting corn. Rice, perhaps? That is forgivable. Finish was semi-dry and while not a bad beer, per se, it would not be a standout in a crowd, either. Once more, I am damning with faint praise, but so be it. I calls 'em as I sees 'em and if you don't like it, don't send or sell me your CANS!

A hectic day here in Kathmandu and time for a cold beer.Poured from an 11.2 oz. can. Has a light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is malty, a touch of sweetness to it. Taste is light and mild, some malts, almost like a light beer. Feels light in the mouth and overall, nothing offensive about this beer, and it is refreshing, just bland and boring.
