Had this, surprisingly, on tap at a student pub named The Madison, on campus at the University of Toronto. I was rather skeptical at first but after much investigation, and the appropriate tap handle between that of their lager and light offerings, I've had to conclude it is real!
Suspicious, however, especially knowing that the regular Carlsberg is both brewed and bottled in Ontario, that this 'Carslberg Red' seems to only be offered here, and nowhere in its native Denmark?! Although given the nature of the LCBO it doesn't surprise me (we've seen it before) but in all honesty I suspect this isn't quite, 100% authentic.
Served in a pilsner shaped glass, very fine level of suddy, rust coloured head. A clear and glossy amber body. The aroma somewhat pleasant, not unappealing anyhow, showcasing a cheap bill of caramel malts. Lots of "red" is for sure. Trace amounts of diacetyl to go well with the overall 'macro' character of the beer. Quenching though, considerably smooth (and superior to their lager or light - a worthy alternative). Taste mostly the amber malts. Kept cold this all in all a decent red.

I had this lager this afternoon at the restaraunt at the Niagara Golf Club in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Pours a bronze clear color with an ivory patchy head and only a tiny bit of lace. the aroma is sweetish and mildly malty. The taste is too sweet with a syrupy malt flavor and hints of caramel and fruit. Theres a tiny bit of roastyness in the finish that is quickly subsumed by the sweetness. The mouthfeel is watery.
This is a mediocre european lager. Sure, its reddish colored, it still tastes bland.
