Jacobsen Limited Edition Coffee Mint Stout (92 Points)
Deep brown.
NOSE > Coffee, mint, herbs, toasted toffee, rich, creamy, spicy roasted malt.
PALATE > Rich, but also sappy & refreshing. On the elegant/light end of Stout spectrum. Midway between Black Lager & a dry Porter, stylistically. Lots of roasted, herbal, spicy, almost fruity malts, sarsaparilla root, & cola, Coffee & mint are somewhat in the background. Great complexity on the palate - actually MORE than on the nose (an exception, like some Old-School Tokaji) So, So drinkable - almost gulpable (7.5% ABV).
Med+ carbonation. Elegant. Med bodied. Refreshing, sappy, spicy, herbal. Palate significantly more interesting & complex than nose - Overall 92 Points (NOSE 90 Points, PALATE 93 1/2 Points).
Not one I would think about aging.
Beautiful & surprising, & going Fast! Cheers!

Aroma is mildly minty, but I think it’s more wishful thinking and suggestion as I really don’t smell very much at all. Body is dark brown to black with a pinky thin tan head. Fore is roast and coffee....tastes Porterish. Ohh so mildly mint accented...more spicy than minty really. Mouthfeel is decent, but the flavor is pretty so-so. Some mild milk creaminess in the finish procedes a medium intensity coffee accented acidic bitterness. Ok.
