A "Mørkt Hwidtøl", that is a low-alcohol bottom fermented wheat beer that is flavoured with liquorice and sugar. Often enjoyed at breakfast time, this is probably the most unique Danish style.

Catch up rating from notes, 2012: Bottle picked up in Danish market while visiting Legoland. This low alcohol beer more closely resembles the carbonated malt beverages widely available throughout Europe. Pours out a dark brown, mahogany color, small dissipating beige head. Smell is raisins and prunes, sweet. More of the super sweet malts in the taste, almost in soft drink territory. Interesting, and I guess, traditional.

Obtained while in Copenhagen last year (2008), didn't notice the 1.7% bit as I purchased a few different beers to bring home with me.
Dark green (looks brown) 33cl bottle, poured into a Frankenheim Alt tumbler twice.
The body of the beer is very dark, a deep, deep ruby red and brown colour, almost black. The top was a firm tan foaming head, which sadly all too soon turned into a weak collar.
Smell was like Vimto.
So sweet, it is just so sweet. Like a semi-flat Pesi or Coke. Anyone reading this remember 'Dandelion and Burdock'? A British soft drink now lost (mostly) to newer fizzy products. Well this reminded me of that.
Difficult to score as a beer or as a drink, but I liked it and it brought back memories of my youth (don't ask how long ago that was).

A: Dark Brown almost black beer with a 4mm sustained head and no lacing.
S: Smells of a toned down malt. It is a very sweet refreshing smell.
T: Reminds me of drinking a tea (namely a peach tea). This beer is very unique and is more enjoyable to me than most soft drinks. It has a very low ABV, but it's taste is very good. It is questionable if it is beer, however, so I had to decrease my rating a little.
M: Extremely smooth, goes down like an Italian Creme Soda. I wish it was a tad bit more full-bodied.
D: With the low ABV and great taste this is exceptionally easy to drink if you like sweeter things. It is a very refreshing beer for casual drinking.

The colour is dark brown, almost black. The finger thick uneven head is beige. No lacing.
The smell is sweet with roasted (almost burned) flavours. I noticed some sweet liquorice, cocoa and brown sugar.
The taste is very, very sweet. The sweetness is a blend of sharp saccharine and mellow brown sugar. When the sugar falls off, some roasted malt and sweet liquorice emerges. The body is rather low. The aftertaste got an almost salty flavour of liquorice, brown sugar, caramel and a weak touch of bitterness.
The carbonation is quite strong; medium bubbles. The mouthfeel is more like a soda than a beer.
A unique beer style.
