The colour is very dark red-brown, almost black; the finger thick pale beige head quickly sinks down to an almost invisible ring. No lacing.
The smell is sweat and roasted. The only thing I can think of is dark rye bread with some yeast and almost frowsy.
The taste is sweet. Very sweet. There is some roasted malt and a note of rye bread, it develops into even more sweetness with a spicy liquorice flavour. The short aftertaste is sweet with some mild fresh bitter notes.
The carbonation is strong and soda-like. Big bubbles.
Whats the difference to the usual Kongens Brygghus Hvid?
